Doing good works and helping each other in good works are the same thing. In the Holy Qur’an, Almighty Allah has instructed people to help each other in good deeds. Allah says:

وَتَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى الْبرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى

‘Help one another in good deeds and piety.’ (Surah Al-Maida: Verse 2)
